VCalendar — sometimes labeled Virtual Web Calendar — was a browser-based calendar application for publishing events and schedules on the web. In the mid-2000s it was offered with source code in PHP, ASP, and ASP.NET, which made it attractive to teams that wanted to host and customize a calendar rather than depend on a closed SaaS tool.
Typical capabilities included annual through daily views, event categories, recurring and all-day events, role-based permissions, and end-user selectable languages and visual styles.
